Devoted to fostering a workplace that is both enjoyable and educational, Chef Cayer has mastered the art of instilling discipline while maintaining a vibrant atmosphere. His expertise extends to performing meticulous quality control on deliverables and conducting comprehensive cost analyses.
Initiating his culinary journey at the age of 18, Chef Cayer attended the New England Culinary Institute, laying the foundation for a career that spans various restaurants across the country. Upon relocating to Chicago in 2012, he honed his skills under the guidance of Chef Riley Huddleston, initially serving as Sous Chef, where he acquired invaluable insights into kitchen management.
Currently, Chef Cayer holds the reins of Sorry Charly's premier oyster bar and restaurant in Savannah, GA. In this executive role, he oversees a multifaceted culinary program, managing the banquet catering team, a popular rooftop bar and lounge, and a Tiki Bar offering a tropical escape. His culinary vision infuses sophistication into approachable fare, delighting both Savannah's guests and locals alike.
In the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, Chef Cayer passionately translates his culinary zeal into action. From curating innovative menus for the bar/lounge to orchestrating memorable banquet services, he consistently strives to make dining at Sorry Charly's an unforgettable experience.
Beyond the culinary realm, Chef Cayer treasures his role as a family man. Celebrating the arrival of his two sons as the best thing that has ever happened to him, he devotes his spare time to exploring a myriad of restaurants and creating cherished moments with his wife Margaret and sons, Rowan and Killian.
